Speculative thinking and speculative prototyping

Iceland University of the Arts

The two posters show the different methods of speculative design used within the Beyond e-Textiles project. Speculative design, future scenario building and different speculative prototyping methods were used through the project's lifetime to brainstorm and hypothesize, generate ideas and to make prototypes of objects out of textile materials that do not yet exist. Speculative design workshops were also a valuable catalyst in sparking ice-braking conversations between researchers from different disciplines through creative brainstorming.
