Iines Jakovlev
Foraged Fibers
Dialogue between inquisitiveness and neglected nature
In Foraged Fibers Jakovlev experimented with inspiring, ancient but forgotten fiber sources such as willowherb, dandelion and common reed, harvested from Finnish nature. She studied bast fibers, leaf fibers and seed fibers with experimental, practice-led methods by extracting them by tearing, soaking and cooking. Jakovlev then spun the fibers into experimental handspun yarns.
